In days of yore, I sought the world’s acclaim,
My self-worth tied to each passing name.
I chased the wind, my heart on fire,
Seeking validation, my soul’s desire.
But like a mirage, each praise did fade,
Leaving me dry, my spirit jaded.
I found no solace in their words,
My thirst for validation unheard.
Yet still I searched, my heart so sore,
For someone, anyone, to give me more.
But like a ship without a shore,
I drifted, lost, forever poor.
Then came the day, a change within,
I found my strength, my heart began to win.
I learned to let go, to break the chains,
And find my worth in self-reign.
Now I soar, my spirit free,
No longer bound by others’ decree.
I am enough, my heart full and light,
No longer seeking validation’s might.
So if you see me, don’t ask for more,
For I have found my own heart’s score.
I am complete, my soul at peace,
No longer seeking, no longer cease.
